Sell Car Buyer USA your vehicle now to avoid the high cost of storage.
Just last week we covered the story of the Army ending its major program for soldiers being allowed to store their personal belongings and vehicles while being deployed or when PCSing (permanent change of station). However, the new regulation does not affect the longstanding allowance for shipping vehicle from CONUS to CONUS, CONUS to OCONUS, or OCONUS to OCONUS. This allotment allows up to 21 days to collect the shipped vehicle.
The Defense Transportation Regulation - Part IV Personal Property K4 was last updated on January 17, 2023; nonetheless, no official documents have shown the date this is to go into effect. This decision was made by Army officials and was announced in a memo stating, “Effective 1 October, 2023 … activities are therefore no longer authorized to fund [household goods] or [privately owned vehicles] storage requests for deploying soldiers,” Army Sustainment Command wrote in a memo outlining the change. “There is no authority to grant exception to this policy, however, unit commanders may use their designated motor pool or a designated fenced area to store [vehicles] for soldiers on [temporary deployments] at no additional cost.”
